This week in the Homelea Lass studio: there will be Virtual Studio Visits and Patch Blanket trio pattern writing, as well as getting ready to take a break.

Upcoming shipping changes: I won’t be able to ship orders between 22nd May and 16th June so get your orders in ASAP! Studio Chats will still be happening during this time.

Biggest Morning Tea: I’m hosting a Biggest Morning Tea over Zoom at 10am on Sunday 21st May to raise money for the Cancer Council. There will be trivia, crocheting and a lucky door prize drawn from the donations before and on the day – you can donate here. Pop it in your calendar now!

Patch Blanket Trio (samples for new patterns): this is my Make-a-long project. The 3 blankets are finished and the draft pattern is done for the Layered Patch Blanket. The sample of the Patch Scarf is almost finished too. I’ve almost finished making a patch in 10ply for each blanket to check the stitches, rows and amount of yarn.

Happy Potholder: I’ve started writing the draft pattern and re-making the sample.

Warm Heart Blanket in Homelea Happy 10ply: I’ve just started making this to see what it comes out like.

Wrapped In Love Blanket: I’m making the little snuggles size using grey Homelea Bliss.

Warm Heart Blanket in Minna Pink: isn’t it stunning? I love how it looks on my studio chair with 2 pinkish cushions.

Choose Your Yarn Advent-ure Blanket sample: I’m making up a sample using Organic Cotton (same as the Calm Chevron Blanket) and I’ve made 12 squares.

Choose Your Yarn Advent-ure Blanket aka December Blanket: For my personal project I’ve crocheted 48 squares using 4ply/fingering weight yarn and a 2mm hook which uses just under 20g of yarn.

What I’m watching: I’ve almost finished season 16 of Grey’s Anatomy.

Macarla Blanket crochet-a-long and zoom catch-ups – 17th June to 26th August: join me in making this fascinating blanket, part by part with both right and left handed video tutorials. Explore the pattern and online course here, and order your kit here.

Patch Blanket Trio crochet-a-long – a 13 month long project starting July 2023: each month crochet a new colour of your Patch Blanket (3 different designs to choose from) with the option to make it in a 10ply or super chunky yarn. We’ll have a dedicated Zoom Catch-Up once a month.

Flourish Blanket crochet-a-long and zoom catch-ups – September and October 2023: crochet this stunning blanket using 10ply or super chunky yarn with left and right handed video tutorials! See the 8ply pattern here. There will be an 10ply and super chunky kit.

Choose Your Yarn Advent-ure Blanket crochet-a-long and zoom catch-ups – November 2023 to February 2024: the focus of this pattern and crochet-a-long is having something enjoyable and easy to crochet at the end of the year / start of the new year. Find the online course for it here and at present you can:

• choose your yarn size and blanket size, and then find out how much yarn you’ll need and the crochet hook size you’ll need
• get ideas and colour inspiration for your blanket
• ask for help or suggestions in the “ask me your questions part
• find the square crochet pattern, crochet chart and video tutorials for making a test square to check your size and yarn used

I’m considering putting together a kit for this.

Crafty Secret Santa – October to December 2023: Secret Santa’s are much more fun when you know you’re getting something crafty that’s tailored just for you.

Beyond the Basic Crochet Stitches Online Course – all of 2023: this is a year long online course where you’ll learn all the bit and pieces of crocheting that aren’t stitches. Things like reading crochet charts, how to do blocking and even taking photos of your projects. A new part will be released each month and it’s included in the Maker and VIP Memberships.
