Calm Chevron Blanket Lynda in the studio | Homelea Lass contemporary crochet

I’m glad you’re diving into crocheting chunky scarfs! They feel so good to make, and are a great way to build your skills and confidence before crocheting blankets.

But the question is, which scarf should you make first?

There are 5 different chunky scarfs for you to make in the Chunky Scarf Crochet kit and they’re all suitable for learning to crochet. Trust your initial instinct about what you love, and enjoy the texture that’s unique to chunky crochet.

Did you know that you can adjust the length or width of each of the scarfs to suit what you’d like? That’s one of the benefits of making your own scarf!

I’d love to introduce you to each of the chunky scarf patterns, and I’ve got a handy worksheet for you down below too.

Grounded Cowl

The Grounded Cowl is the perfect winter accessory because it’s gorgeously chunky without being too big – it looks beautiful whether it’s worn wrapped tightly around your neck or just hanging like a big woolly necklace.

The Grounded Cowl will use about 2/3rds of your 300g skein of Homelea Bliss yarn, and you may be able to make the Spring Headscarf and Cowl as well.

Melbourne Snood

The Melbourne Snood came to life when I was looking for something to keep the cold Melbourne wind off my neck, even in Summer. It was inspired by lots of excellent coffee and delightful design market outings and it hung in my Melbourne hallway all year round – there are 4 season in one day after all!

The Melbourne Snood will use about 2/3rds of your 300g skein of Homelea Bliss yarn, and you may be able to make the Spring Headscarf and Cowl as well.

Spring Headscarf and Cowl

I love accessories that can be used many ways, and this design can be worn on your head or around your neck. It’s perfect for pulling on as the days warm up in Spring, or as they’re getting cooler in Autumn.

The Spring Headscarf is inspired by growth and renewal, and its texture reminds me of leaves and vines growing and moving. Wearing your Spring Cowl feels light, warm and snuggly – perfect for when the air is crisp, and the sun is warm.

The Spring Headscarf and Cowl will use about 1/3rd of your 300g skein of Homelea Bliss yarn, and you may be able to make the Grounded Cowl or Melbourne Snood as well.

Warm Heart Scarf

Designed specifically for mastering the basic crochet stitches, the Warm Heart Scarf feels lovely and warm around your neck and shows off the beautiful texture of chunky crochet.

The Warm Heart Scarf will use most of your 300g skein of Homelea Bliss yarn.

Warm Heart Cowl

I’m a big fan of cowls, snoods and infinity scarfs because they’re so easy to wear. After I designed the Warm Heart Scarf I had to take it a step further and join the ends together to turn it into a cowl that can be worn 3 different ways – it’s the perfect addition to your winter wardrobe.

The Warm Heart Scarf will use most of your 300g skein of Homelea Bliss yarn.
