about the Folded Patch Blanket

what we’re making

We’re crocheting the Folded Patch Blanket by making 35 patches and then joining them together with a knit-like stitch.

You have the option to make the Folded Patch Blanket with either super chunky yarn or 10ply / worsted weight yarn. The size of the blanket and its patches are the same, with the size of the stitches varying. The super chunky version has bigger stitches that are easier to crochet.

The patches repeat the same stitch over and over again to create a three dimensional texture.

skill level – easy

This pattern uses simple stitch patterns and if you’ve done some crocheting before then you’ll be able to make it.

You will learn how to:

  • do a double crochet through the front loop only (UK terminology) / single crochet through the front loop only (US terminology)

It will help if you know how to:

  • make a slip knot and do chain stitches
  • crochet double crochet (UK terminology) / single crochet (US terminology) stitches
  • count your rows and stitches
  • check your tension / gauge / length of the row
  • fasten off, weave in ends and finish off your crocheting

size

The Folded Patch Blanket is 135cm (53in) wide and 120cm (47in) high. It’s the perfect size for snuggling on the lounge or lying across your bed.
