yarn, hook and tools
This pattern has the option to make it with 2 different yarn sizes:
- super chunky yarn, or
- 10ply / worsted weight yarn.
The blanket size is the same for both yarn sizes, and the number of stitches and rows changes (the super chunky version has bigger, more textural stitches).
The yarn, hook and tools that are needed depends on the yarn size.
To make your Layered Patch Blanket you will need the desire to crochet a beautiful blanket, as well as . . .
For Homelea Bliss or a super chunky yarn:
- 13 colours x 1 x 300g skeins of Homelea Bliss yarn, or 13 colours x 65m (71yds) of yarn that is 1cm ( 0.4in) thick
- 15.75mm (Q) crochet hook
- 2 stitch markers
- scissors
- tape measure
For Homelea Happy or a 10ply / worsted weight yarn:
- 13 colours x 2 x 50g balls of Homelea Happy yarn, or 13 colours x 220m (240yds) of 10ply / worsted weight yarn
- 6.00mm (J) crochet hook
- 2 stitch markers
- scissors
- tape measure
- darning needle
about the yarns
Homelea Bliss and Homelea Happy are made from soft merino wool that is fully grown and processed in Australia with no overseas processing (it’s uncommon for an Australian wool yarn to not have some overseas processing). They both feel soft and last well with regular use, and are free from acrylic, synthetics and superwash.
